Heartworm
Warning
It has been discovered that a dog can test negative for
Heartworms, but 6 months later test positive. This
is because the heartworms had not developed enough to
show up when the first test was taken. It is not NWAL-WV
Shetland Sheepdog Dog Rescue, Inc.’s fault if the dog
test positive for Heartworm at a later date & NWAL-WV
Shetland Sheepdog Dog Rescue, Inc., cannot be held
financially liable. We have taken every precaution to
prevent this from happening, but it could still happen.
You should also have a fecal exam done on a regular
basis & shots updated every three years, until age 7 and
then discontinue shots except Rabies. And it is very
important to keep your dog on Heartworm Preventative
program, so he/she does not get Heartworms.
