Sassy (Adopted)

Hi my name is Sassy because I am....I am a pure for Sable and White, 2-1/2 year old female Sheltie and weigh about 22lbs.  I came into rescue with my two brothers because our mom passed away and the family took us to the shelter to find us homes.  This nice foster lady is helping us find our forever homes....we know we need to be seperated, but really don't want to....I am spayed, up to date on shots, on heartworm prevention, microchipped and will be ready for adoption November 1st, 2011.  I like to play with toys, like to eat, get along well with other dogs and cats and people.

Max (Adopted)

Hi my name is Max and I am Sassy's brother.  I am 2-1/2 years old too and am a Mahogany Sable and White male Sheltie and weigh 24lbs.  We like our foster home mom because she treats us real well while we are waiting for our forever home.  I have been neutered, up to date on shots, on heartworm prevention, microchipped and will be ready for adoption November 1, 2011.  I am a bit shy at first but then I warm up and like to play and have treats.

Cody (Adopted)

Hi my name is Cody and I am Sassy and Max's brother.  I am 2-1/2 years old too and pure for Sable and White male Sheltie and weigh about 14lbs.  I am tiny.  I love my foster mom because she gives me kisses and gives us toys and treats and stuff.  I have been neutered, up to date on shots, on heartworm prevetion, microshipped and won't be ready for adoption until November 20, 2011 because I have an infection and some skin abrasions.  I am very playful, love toys, treats, cats, people.

Cissy spent her life breeding puppies in Beckley, WV. In fact, she birthed 7 litters before her owner left her at the shelter. She is a Tri color Sheltie, 8-10 years of age, about 13 inches tall and sweet as can be. She has been spayed, had a dental, been microchipped, had all her shots and will be ready on September 30, 2011 for adoptiion. 

She needs a loving home that will cuddle with her and pet her all the time. She goes out when she has to and likes to be in the house. She  loves eating...She would prefer an older couple who will have the time to spend with her.

She also needs a secure fenced in yard and she likes boundaries and feels safer.

Rafael, aka Rafe, a Sable and White male 2 year old Sheltie weighing 19 lbs., came to us from a very bad puppymill situation in KY. He and his brothers Noah, a Sable and White male 1 year old Sheltie weighing 18 lbs and Gabriel are very unsocialized and scared half to death of
people. They relate to all animals well. Rafe is the only one of the three that will venture out, but shys away when you try to touch or hold him. These dogs will take a very experienced owner who knows what can happen to these special babies. They all will try to escape
at the first chance they get, so they have to be in a strong fence, possibly 5 ft or wooden fenced in yard. Rafe is a climber, like a cat and he likes to be in the window, Noah likes dog beds. They are also pad trained as they won't go outside right now, however, when Rafe
does his business, he barks to let you know that he has so you can clean it up. He is a character.

Max is an 8 year old, 30 lb., Sable & White Sheltie male who was turned into the shelter because the people were moving into an apartment that did not allow them to have dogs. He was very neglected and shy. After having a very much needed dental, neutering, shots and
microchipping, he is a happy guy that enjoys his food now that he can eat it.

Max led a pretty sheltered life and is just getting used to having other dogs, cats and birds around him. He is doing well, but still would rather be with human companions than other dogs. He is a sweet boy who acts just like a puppy. He needs a nice fenced in yard, just a few friends to play with and lots of human attention and love....Won't you adopt Max and give him the best forever home?

ALERT:  This little boy was stolen from his yard in late August 2010. We are still looking for him and in faith that a vet will scan for a microchip and find that he was stolen and send him back to his owners who are never giving up on finding this little boy.....

Hi my name is Rafa and I am a Sable and White male Sheltie. I was found a few months ago in the Anniston, AL area and no one came to claim me, so the nice people decided to keep me.

Now they have to move because they lost their home and they can't take me with them....I am in foster care with a Sheltie rescuer and people are already wanting to adopt me.......I won't last long......

My former owner was unable to care for me due to a disability, so she decided to give me to Sheltie Rescue to find the best home possible. I am very sweet and love everybody....I am good with kids, other dogs my size, and cats.

Hi my name is Roscoe. I am 5 years old and a TriColor. I am a real bossy Sheltie, but I just love my owners to pieces.

My first home couldn't keep me anymore and I don't know why because they had me since I was a pup.....You just never know about humans.

Anyway, I am looking for a real nice home with a fenced in yard so I can bark at the birds and run and play. I need lots of exercise and love.

Hi my name is Honey Bear and I am an 11 year old Sheltie that was turned over to rescue with my brother Baby because our owners lost their home and jobs. We were so sad, especially me, because I gained about 20 lbs over the years and my teeth were so bad I couldn't eat.

Now I am on a good diet, had my teeth fixed, got on thyroid meds and am feeling better and better. I am a good girl who never messes anywhere.

I need a lot of love and someone to lay by to watch TV together.
